We operate under a transparent pricing model, where there is open communication and no hidden costs. With us, the final quoted price you are given at the onset of our relationship is the price you will see on the bill upon your move to Philadelphia. If something new pops up along the way, we will always bring it to your attention first, receive approval, and then proceed. We have a 2-hour minimum per move, with the clock starting as soon as we pick up the first piece of furniture. We include everything that matters in our quote (no travel fees, on-time guarantee, and more), require no deposit, and don’t have cancellation fees.
While this depends on your own unique needs and timelines, the last few and first few days of each month tend to be peak moving days. This is especially true in the spring in summer, when moving tends to spike (however – if you’re looking to make a winter move, snow doesn’t stop us).
Mornings and afternoons are the most popular times – because moving is exciting! It’s natural to want to start the process early so that you can be in your new home as soon as possible that day. From a logistics perspective, many elevator buildings don’t let people move after 5PM or on Sunday. If you’re looking to pick a day of the week, both Friday and Saturday are in-demand moving days.
We know how important timing is to have a stress-free Philadelphia moving day, so this is our commitment to you. If we are late — arriving outside of the window of time we have given you — we will give you an immediate $50 reduction on your moving bill. For each additional 30 minutes we are late, your final bill will be reduced by $25. The window of time that we provide is to account for traffic conditions. Morning move windows are one hour and afternoon moves are a two-hour-window. If we arrive anywhere outside of these windows, you will get a cost reduction on your move.
We recommend booking your Philadelphia move as early as possible to secure your spot, with two weeks in advance being ideal. We don’t require a deposit and have no cancellation fees, so there is zero harm in securing a date even if you anticipate the possibility of rescheduling in the future (just let us know as soon as possible if you are no longer moving so we can fill that opening). In case a last-minute change does arise, don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll do our best to assist you with your move under any circumstance.
As moving is a service sector, you may choose to express your gratitude to the movers with a gratuity if they perform exceptionally well. It’s important to note that while gratuities are not obligatory, they are certainly welcomed by our team. On average, our crews generally receive tips ranging from 10% to 15% of the final bill. However, if your movers went above and beyond, feel free to leave a higher tip. Conversely, if the service didn’t meet your expectations, there’s no obligation to leave a tip at all. We also appreciate a review of your experience with us on Google, Yelp, or Facebook.
Most moving companies, as required by the Department of Transportation, provide basic coverage of $.60 cents per pound per article.
What gaps does that leave for you as the client? If your new flat-screen TV was broken in a move, basic coverage would only take into consideration the weight of the TV and not the value for a new TV. 50 pounds x $.60 per pound = $30 reimbursement. We offer FREE Additional Damage Coverage up to $2,000, as an extra form of protection, for your home and items to ensure your belongings are covered.
We allocate up to $2,000 per move to repair, replace, or provide a cash settlement for any items damaged by our movers during the moving process. It’s important to us to go above and beyond what the average moving company offers to ensure your peace of mind.
For items that are marked as a “total loss”, we stick to the $.60 per pound or offer a maximum of $2,000 depending on the circumstance of the damage. We highly recommend buying additional valuation on high-value items such as artwork or antiques by going through a 3rd-party insurance company and choosing the level of liability and deductible levels.
As soon as you book your Philadelphia move with Orange Truck, we will ensure that your move is full of communication. We work to anticipate every need, get in front of all the logistics, and ensure that you’re left feeling secure in your decision and excited about your move. Because moving is more than just boxes – it’s your life.
